Renewing your manufacturerβs licence
You can select a two-year or four-year term when you renew your licence. There are fees that reflect these terms.Β
The AGCO will remind you by email or mail 60 days and 7 days before your licence expires. You must apply to renew your licence and submit the right fee before this expiry date. You can apply to renew your licence through the iAGCO portal.Β
If we get your application and fee(s) by the expiry date, weβll send you confirmation of your renewal application. This will allow you to operate until you receive your renewed licence.Β
Important: Expired manufacturerβs licences and endorsements canβt be renewed.Β Β
If the AGCO doesnβt get your renewal application by the expiry date on your manufacturerβs licence, your licence will expire. It wonβt be valid anymore.Β Β Β Β
Youβll have to apply for a new manufacturerβs licence & endorsement(s).Β Β
You canβt operate your winery, brewery or distillery without a valid licence.Β
Β
To renew your manufacturerβs licence, the AGCO will need confirmation that:Β Β
- Your tax status is up-to-date (check your status on the Ministry of Financeβs Tax Compliance Verification portal)Β
If there is a change in ownership, you must report it to the AGCO and submit applicable transfer applications in iAGCO. You need to pay any balance owning with the Ministry of Finance before we can renew your licence.Β
Transfer your licence
You can transfer your manufacturerβs licence to a different person if you meet the regulatory requirements.Β Β
The Registrar mayΒ transfer your licence for up to one year if:Β
- A trustee in bankruptcy or court-appointed receiver buys the businessΒ
- A mortgagee, franchisor, landlord or executor of the estate of a licensee who dies takes possession of the licensed facilityΒ
You can transfer your licence through the iAGCO portal. You must provide the same documents and information as you did when you applied for the licence.Β
Youβll also need these documents as part of your transfer application:Β
- Consent to transferβ―(indicating the agreement of the current licence holder toβ―transferβ―theβ―licence)β―β―Β
- Proof of transfer (confirmation that the purchase of the businessβ―hasβ―beenβ―finalized)β―Β
The AGCO wonβt approve a transfer if:Β
- You have an outstanding monetary penaltyΒ
- The person or entity you want to transfer the licence to isnβt eligible
Closing your business
You need to submit a voluntary surrender of licence application on the iAGCO portal to cancel your licence if youβre closing your licensed business.Β
