Need to manage your licence?
Remove a condition
If you have conditions on a licence or authorization, and somethingβs changed, you can apply to have a condition removed. Depending on the how the condition was added, you must apply to either the AGCO or the Licence Appeal Tribunal (LAT).
Apply to the AGCO if:
- the AGCO imposed the condition with your consent according to the Cannabis Licence Act
- the AGCO imposed the condition as part of our risk-based licensing process (weβll only remove this condition if we donβt think the risk designation is needed anymore) Β

To request that the AGCO remove conditions because somethingβs changed:
- Log in to iAGCO.
- Select βRequest a Changeβ.
- Select the right licence or authorization.
- Select βRemoval of Condition(s) on Consentβ.
- Submit all information and documents that support your request.
Apply to the LAT to have a condition on your licence or authorization removed if aa panel of the LAT imposed the condition following a hearing
Consult the LAT website for the applicable forms and process.
Changing legal entity type
Cannabis licences and authorizations arenβt transferable. If you want to change your legal entity type (for example, sole proprietor to a corporation) you must submit a new application and applicableβ―fees.
Change the operator at an existing authorizedβ―store
Cannabis licences and authorizations arenβt transferable. If youβre a new owner and you want to take over an existing authorized store, you need to submit a new retail store authorization application and applicable fees. Youβll also need a retail operator licence.
If there is cannabis inventory at the authorized retail store, youβll have to work with the current owner to sort it out. If you donβt want to take on the cannabis inventory, then the current store owner will have to dispose of it correctly. Β

Corporate structureβ―changes
You need to tell the AGCO if you make changes to your corporate structure. Β
- Log in to iAGCO.
- Select βRequest a Changeβ.
- Select the right cannabis retail operator licence.
- Select βCorporate Structure Updateβ.
- Submit all relevant information and documents, includingβ―disclosures.
You need to show us that the transaction is finished before weβll approve the changes.

New sources of funding orβ―agreements
You need to tell us within five business days when you have any new agreements or sources of new funds that youβll use so support your cannabisβ―business.
- Log in to iAGCO.
- Select βRequest a Changeβ.
- Select the right cannabis retail operator licence.
- Select βNew and/or Changes to Agreements or Sources of Fundsβ. Β
- Submit all relevant information and documents.
Adding or changingβ―names
Your storeβs operating name must match your retail store authorization. Your name might have to be registered under theβ―Business Names Act. For information and forms, please see theβ―Ontario.caβ―Central Forms Repository. Β
To request name change:
- Log into iAGCO.
- Select βRequest a Changeβ.
- Select the right licence or authorization.
- Select βAdding and/or Changing Namesβ. Β
- Submit all relevant information and documents.
Note:
- Licensed retail managers changing their legal name should submit the change through their retail manager licence.
- Licensed retail operators changing the name of the legal entity should submit this change through their retail operator licence and any cannabis retail store authorizations theyβ―have.
- Licensed retail operators changing the operating name of their store should submit this change through their cannabis retail store authorization.
Request to cancel a licence orβ―authorization
You can ask the AGCO in writing to cancel your licence or authorization, and give up your licence or authorization.Β
If you are a licensed operator and you want to close an authorized store for good, you need to:
- notify the AGCO through the notification matrix
- submit a separate request to cancel yourβ―authorization

- Select βRequest a Changeβ.
- Select the right licence or authorization.
- Select βRequest to Cancelβ.
- Submit the request and provide the right documents. Β
Note:
If you have both a cannabis retail operator licence and cannabis retail store authorization(s) and you want to cancel you retail operator licence, you must submit a request to cancel and surrender each retail store authorization along with the licence.
Youβll need to make sure that you:
- deal with any leftover cannabis according to regulations
- complete final reporting Β
If youβre a corporation, youβll need a board resolution confirming the decision.
