Overview
The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) is an Ontario provincial regulatoryΒ agency reporting toΒ theΒ Ministry of the Attorney GeneralΒ (MAG). It is a corporation under theΒ Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario Act, 2019.
TheΒ AGCOΒ is responsible for regulating the alcohol, gaming, horse racing and cannabis retail sectors in accordance with the principles of honesty and integrity, and in the public interest. In so doing, theΒ AGCOΒ administers theΒ Liquor Licence and ControlΒ Act,β―2019,Β theΒ Gaming Control Act, 1992,Β theΒ Horse Racing Licence Act, 2015Β and theΒ Cannabis Licence Act, 2018.Β TheΒ AGCOΒ also administers the charity lottery licensing Order-in-CouncilΒ 1413/08.
